A Rosary for Charles William Green Sr. age 81 of Murchison will be 5:30 pm Mon, Oct 14 followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 pm at St Edwards Catholic Church 800 Tyler St. Athens with reception to follow at AA hall, 408 W. Tyler, Athens. Charlie was born July 10, 1932 in Houston to Brice Alva & Gladys Thelma Green Sr. and passed away on October 4, 2013 in Athens. Formerly of Houston, Charlie lived in the Henderson County Area since about 2002. He served his Country in the U S Coast guard during Korea, was a retired salesman, a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and a 4th degree Knights of Columbus. He had 21 years of sobriety in Alcoholics Anonymous serving as a speaker and a sponsor for many in AA. Survivors include Children: Charles William Green Jr. of Murchison, Mary Catherine Green of Dallas, Cleon Green of San Antonio, Russell Green of Dallas, Grandchildren: Andrew Green, Paul McClinton, Melissa Bartlett, Amanda Kerner, Allyson Green, KarlaGarrett, Hannah Clanton, Meghan & Chelsea Green and Martha Howard, and 13 Great-grandchildren. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Wife: Cleon Oberst Green, Grandson: Clayton Taylor Green.
